The Simpsons Predicted USA’s Olympics Gold Medal 10 Years Ago!


The Simpsons prediction of USA’s win against Sweden in curling came to life, eight years later, at the Winter Olympics 2018!

While playing alongside the favored Swedes, the USA team were almost out of the tournament when they surprised everyone by defeating their opponent, leaving audiences perplexed by winning their first Olympics gold medal.

The winning shot was played by curler, John Shuster.

As shocking as this was, it so happens that the The Simpsons predicted this win 8 years ago!

The Simpsons’ writers predicted this event in 2010. In season 21 of their twelfth episode, Boy Meets Curls, the final victory against Sweden was mirrored exactly as this year’s win.

The episode was set as the 2010 Winter Olympics and was broadcast on 14th of February.

Just like this unexpected win, The Simpsons saw USA through victory against Sweden in a game in which they had already given up.

In the episode, Homer and Marge Simpson, also earned the team their first gold medal. They were part of a mixed curling team with Agnes and Seymour Skinner. They beat Canada first in the semi-finals and, Sweden in the finals.

The Simpsons episode was directed by Chuck Sheetz and the script was written by Rob LaZebnik. Sheetz wanted Homer to play bobsleigh but then made the story line revolve around curling.

The Simpsons team worked hard for this episode and also visited curling clubs. The directors wanted this episode to seem as authentic as possible.

Along with being known as the longest running animated series, The Simpsons has also been spot on when predicting future events. In their previous 29 seasons, they have accurately foretold plenty of future occurrences including the Trump Presidency, Ebola outbreak and the horse meat scandal.

The entire social media are baffled with another accurate predictions by The Simpsons. This recent forecast has left everyone puzzled and wanting more.
